Pumpkin Chili by Tammie from Derry
Ingredients:
- 3 lbs ground Hamburg
- 1 lg onion diced
- 1 garlic clove diced
- 1tsp salt
- 1tsp pepper
- 1tsp nutmeg
- 1tsp chili powder
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 cans undiluted tomato soup
- 2 jars heinz chili sauce (16 oz)
- 2 cans mexicorn rinsed
- 1 can black beans (15.5 oz) rinsed
- 1 can light red kidney beans (15.5 oz) rinsed
- 1 can chick peas (15.5 oz) rinsed
- 1 can diced tomatoes italian stlye not drained
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 1/2 (15 oz) can pumpkin 100 % pure pumpkin Libby's
Directions for Preparation: Brown hamburg; add onions and garlic until tender. Drain. Add to large crockpot along with other ingredients. Cook on low setting for 4-6 hours.
Special Tips & Tricks: Can be made with 1 1/2 lbs ground hamburg and 1 1/2 ground turkey. Hot sausage also can be added to give a more spicy flavor.
Serve with: Served with dollop of sour cream and or chedder cheese. Garlic bread is a great touch too.
