First-time Homebuyers Get a Hand Up from St. Mary’s Bank with Down Payment Assistance Grants

Posted On 3/27/2017
Specializing in first-time homebuyer lending, St. Mary’s Bank is proud to once again offer down payment assistance through Equity Builder Program (EBP) grants to qualifying first-time homebuyers. These grants can be applied to down payment funds or used for homebuyer counseling and rehabilitation assistance.

“Eligible households can receive up to $11,000,” explains Karen Mayrand, Director of Residential Lending at St. Mary’s Bank. “As the nation’s first credit union, St. Mary’s Bank continues to be committed to helping people realize their dreams of homeownership, and EBP grants can make all the difference.”

What do households need to qualify? The primary program requirement is total household incomes at or below 80 percent of the median income for the area. Grant fund reservations begin March 29, 2017. Apply now for funds available to qualifying households on a first-come, first-served basis.

To see if you qualify for first-time homebuyer down payment assistance through EBP or to learn more, contact the Mortgage Center at St. Mary’s Bank at 1-888-705-9596.

EBP funds are provided by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston, and St. Mary’s Bank is eligible for up to $110,000 to distribute to qualifying first-time homebuyers.
