St. Mary’s Bank Holds 108th Annual Shareholder Meeting and Re-elects Daniel J. Healy as Chairman of the Board

St. Mary’s Bank, the nation’s first credit union, shared 2016 financial results with members at its 108th Annual Shareholder meeting April 26, 2017 at its McGregor Street headquarters in Manchester.
 
President and CEO Ronald H. Covey, Jr. presented the credit union’s strong performance and growth during 2016, which included:
  • $453.4 million in total loan production
  • $852 million in total deposits, an increase of 8.61 percent from 2015
  • $960 million in assets, up 7.79 percent from 2015 
Covey proudly shared that St. Mary’s Bank now has 102,997 members, up 6 percent from the previous year.
 
“We are thrilled to be the number one choice for so many individuals and families in New Hampshire and will continue to provide the highest level of service and security to our members,” says Covey. “We’re making changes that members can see and truly appreciate: expanded branch space at Elm Street and Perimeter Road, employee development, and fraud prevention.”
 
St. Mary’s Bank members elected David H. Bellman; Guy D. Chapdelaine, CPA; and Daniel J. Healy to a three-year term on the board of directors. Guy Chapdelaine; Craig S. Donais, Esq.; and Kara L. Fontaine, CPA were elected to a one-year term on the Supervisory Committee. Stephen J. Grzywacz, Elizabeth S. C. Hitchcock, Ronald J. Rioux, and Suzanne I. Vachon were elected to a one-year term on the Credit Committee.
 
After the annual meeting, the board re-elected Daniel Healy as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Healy’s service on the board began in 2005, and he served as Chairman of the credit union’s Credit Committee from 2010 to 2016. He is the owner-president and funeral director of the Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Manchester. Guy D. Chapdelaine, CPA, who joined the board in 2009, was elected Vice Chairman of the Board. He also has served on St. Mary’s Bank’s Supervisory Committee since 2010. Chapdelaine recently retired as the Finance Officer for the Diocese of Manchester.

Honored at the meeting was Robert E. Duval, who retired from the Supervisory Committee after 12 years of distinguished service to St. Mary’s Bank. Duval joined the Supervisory Committee in 2005 and served as Chairman from 2007–2013 and 2015–2016. He was presented with a classic captain’s chair engraved with the credit union’s logo, his name, and his years of service. Replacing Duval on the Supervisory Committee is Kara L. Fontaine, CPA, a principal at Howe, Riley & Howe, PLLC.
