St. Mary Bank Makes $10,000 Donation to Support Nashua PAL Youth Safe Haven Renovations

Posted On 4/22/2020
MANCHESTER, NH (April 21, 2020) — St. Mary’s Bank recently made a $10,000 donation to Nashua PAL (Police Athletic League) to help with the major remodeling of its Youth Safe Haven building on Ash Street.

“Nashua PAL’s Youth Safe Haven is a positive force in the lives of so many Nashua youth and their families,” said Ron Covey, St. Mary’s Bank President and CEO. “We proudly support the renovation of this facility because of the lasting impact it will have on a community in need.”

Nashua PAL serves more than 2,000 youth in Greater Nashua through 16 different programs. At Youth Safe Haven, which is located in a high-crime Nashua neighborhood, the organization provides free afterschool care and mentoring programs to over 400 youth from low-income households.

Donations like St. Mary’s Bank’s will help with exterior improvements and solar panel installation as well as interior renovations to include educational resources, safety features, and ADA accessibility. Building on Hope, a volunteer organization that facilitates improvements to select non-profit buildings in New Hampshire, is managing the $1 million Youth Safe Haven project slated for completion this May.

The gift to Nashua PAL was made through St. Mary’s Bank’s Community Outreach Program, which serves the New Hampshire community through loans and grants to specific organizations and charities.
