MANCHESTER, NH (April 23, 2020) — St. Mary’s Bank, the nation’s first credit union, has been named a 2019 top 10 outstanding lender by New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority for its success in helping homebuyers obtain affordable financing.

“We are honored to be recognized as a top affordable housing lender for the tenth year running,” said Karen Mayrand, St. Mary’s Bank Senior Vice President and Director of Residential Lending. “Helping first-time and lower-income homebuyers is always a priority for us. Through partnerships with organizations like New Hampshire Housing, we help ease the financial pressures of taking on a first mortgage.”

The Mortgage Center at St. Mary’s Bank participates in New Hampshire Housing’s Preferred Home Lending, Home Flex, and Home Flex Plus Programs. These programs make homeownership possible for low- to moderate-income households through low, fixed interest rates; low down payment requirements; and assistance grants to use toward down payment and closing costs. Most condominiums and one-to-four-family homes qualify for these programs.
