Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at New Branch in Londonderry

Posted On 11/1/2004
St. Mary's Bank held a ribbon cutting ceremony at its new Londonderry branch today, becoming the first credit union to open its doors in Londonderry. The new branch is located on 50 Nashua Road (Route 102) in Londonderry Square, former location of the town offices. Hours and directions for the new branch are located in the Contact Us section of our web site.

Chairman of St. Mary's Board of Directors, Joseph Acorace, cut the ribbon, and Lisa Viau, Director of Branch Sales and Service, delivered opening remarks regarding the benefits St. Mary's has to offer the Londonderry community. Throughout the month of November, St. Mary's will be celebrating its grand opening celebration and will be offering account-opening incentives to residents in and around the town of Londonderry. Gifts for opening accounts will be given, and special offers and coupons will be available, many of which will be valid through the end of next year.

In addition, St. Mary's will be promoting its Trivia Challenge, where participants will be asked to answer trivia questions in order to be entered into weekly drawings. There will be many chances to win prizes, including a trip for two to The Balsams Resort.

The management team at this new branch will be headed up by Maria Southmayd, branch manager, and will include Larry George, mortgage origination officer, and Jack Crane, Certified Senior Advisor, of St. Mary's Financial Services. An open house was held after the ribbon cutting ceremony, where attendees received refreshments and a tour of the branch.

As the first credit union in Londonderry, St. Mary's brings many benefits to the community. Credit unions are different from banks, as they are built solely for serving their membership. The only stockholders are the members themselves, which means credit unions work hard to provide them with financial well-being. Because they are financial cooperatives owned by their members, credit unions are generally able to offer more to their communities than banks.
