St. Mary's Bank Pledges $25,000 to Greater Manchester Family YMCA

Posted On 7/12/2006
St. Mary's Bank recently pledged $25,000 to the Greater Manchester Family YMCA's Step Up for Kids Capital Campaign. The gift supports improvements to the YMCA's child care center, which will be named the St. Mary's Bank Child Watch Center.

"When major organizations like St. Mary's Bank give so generously like this, it shows their support for people in the community," said Leslee Stewart, the YMCA's Capital Campaign Counsel. "We've seen St. Mary's Bank do this over and over again in our community. They really take their leadership role seriously."

The YMCA's $2.9 million Step Up for Kids Capital Campaign is a direct response to serious issues affecting children today, including obesity and poverty. The campaign aims to provide children with more opportunities and facilities for healthy activities. In keeping with that objective, the St. Mary's Bank Child Watch Center will offer more space for supervised children's programs. St. Mary's Bank's decision to lend its name and support to the center is part of the credit union's broader goal of supporting local organizations that serve the greater Manchester community.

The Greater Manchester Family YMCA is committed to creating a place where all are welcome. The YMCA builds a healthy spirit, mind and body in individuals and families by instilling the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility through our practices and programs.
