Posted On 2/21/2007
St. Mary's Bank announced today that it will be hosting a display of hockey memorabilia from the New Hampshire Legends of Hockey. The display can be viewed at the McGregor Street branch in Manchester during regular banking hours.

The display includes old photos, equipment, team jerseys and other memorabilia that illustrates the rich history of hockey in the state of New Hampshire. “The sport of hockey has been a part of the culture and history of New Hampshire, and especially Manchester, for many years, from youth hockey up to the professional level,” said St. Mary's Bank President and CEO Ronald Rioux. “St. Mary's Bank is pleased to help celebrate this history by hosting this display and making these artifacts and photographs available to our members and to the public.”

Jim Hayes, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Legends of Hockey notes that “Manchester, along with Concord and Berlin, were the early centers of influence for hockey in New Hampshire, and they remain so today.” He is grateful that the people of Manchester will have an opportunity to view the display. “Our organization is grateful to St. Mary’s Bank for the opportunity to share some of our artifacts with the public.”

The New Hampshire Legends of Hockey is a self-governing, non-profit association incorporated with the State of New Hampshire. The Association directors work to preserve the history of hockey in New Hampshire, promote play at all levels, and cultivate the resources to preserve New Hampshire hockey artifacts, including historical literature, records, trophies, photos, film, and even equipment and clothing. The Association continues to search for items from the old days. Anyone wishing to donate hockey memorabilia is welcome to do so. More information on the Legends of Hockey and their preservation project may be found at their web site at nhlegendsofhockey.com

This winter is the first time that the New Hampshire Hockey Legends artifacts will be on display in Manchester, Concord and Berlin. The display can be viewed at 200 McGregor Street, Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 5:00 and on Saturday from 9:00 to 12:30.
