St. Mary's Bank Pledges $1,300 to Corpus Christi Food Pantry of Nashua

Posted On 1/31/2007
St. Mary's Bank recently donated $1,300 to the Corpus Christi Food Pantry of Nashua. The funds will be used to purchase a computer, which will enable the organization to more effectively perform financial tasks, including tracking expenses and donations and budget analysis. The donation was made through the Grant program, specifically for non-profits, of St. Mary’s Community Outreach Program.

“There are many people in need of assistance in the greater Nashua area,” said St. Mary's Bank Director of Community Outreach Tom Champagne. “St. Mary's Bank is proud to partner with the worthy organizations that make it their mission to serve those in need. Corpus Christi aids people with the basic necessities of life—food, personal articles and cleaning supplies. We are pleased to help them continue their good works.”

A collaborative effort of the Catholic parishes of Greater Nashua and an extension of the ministry of the Diocese of Manchester, Corpus Christi was established in 1999. It gives food, basic toiletries and cleaning supplies to approximately 1,250 people each month with no regard to race, religion, country of origin or sex. The non-profit organization also provides Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets to those in need during the holiday season.

“We are grateful to St. Mary's Bank for this donation, as it will enable the food pantry to purchase a much-needed computer,” said Bob Hesseltine, President of Corpus Christi Board of Directors. “With this PC, we will be able to use the updated software we need to keep our operations running smoothly and effectively, which means we will be greater able to serve those in need in Nashua. Corpus Christi thanks St. Mary's Bank for its generosity.”
