St. Mary’s Bank Makes $2,000 Donation to the Salvation Army’s Youth Center

Posted On 12/18/2007
St. Mary’s Bank recently made a $2,000 donation to The Salvation Army’s Youth Center. The funds will be used to purchase electronic games for the center’s game room.

“The more we can offer in the way of recreation and activities, the better we can serve children and teens in our community,” said Maribeth McCue, director of community development for The Salvation Army’s Manchester Corps. “St. Mary’s Bank’s donation will help us improve a key piece of our program. We are immeasurably grateful for their support.”

The Salvation Army Youth Center serves nearly 900 center city children and teens between the ages of five and 17. The center offers after-school activities in a safe, structured environment that provide social, educational, and skill building opportunities, as well as family support. Nutritious meals are also available five nights a week at no cost.

“There is no question that the Youth Center has a positive influence on the young people in our community,” said Tom Champagne, Director of Community Outreach of St. Mary’s Bank. “We are happy to help The Salvation Army make things easier for Manchester’s families.”

The gift to The Salvation Army’s Youth Center was made through St. Mary’s Bank’s Community Outreach Program, which serves the New Hampshire community through loans and grants to specific organizations and charities.

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its mission is to meet human needs without discrimination. Since its inception over a century ago, The Salvation Army has been committed to improving the quality of life for people and communities. This would not be possible without the vast number of faithful supporters and volunteers who help us carry out this important work.
