St. Mary’s Bank Elects New Chairman and Vice Chairman

St. Mary’s Bank, the nation’s first credit union, is pleased to announce the election of Ovide M. Lamontagne, Esq. to Chairman of the Board and Daniel J. Healy to Vice Chairman. The two directors, both current members of the board, were elected at the organizational meeting of the board following the 99th Annual Shareholders’ meeting on April 29.

“Both Ovide and Dan have made great contributions as St. Mary’s directors,” said Ronald J. Rioux, St. Mary’s Bank President and Chief Executive Officer. “They are accomplished leaders with outstanding experience and a strong sense of community. We look forward to all the good work they will do in their new roles.”

Lamontagne has been a member of the St. Mary’s Bank Board of Directors since August 2000. He is a shareholder with the regional law firm of Devine, Millimet & Branch. His civic involvement includes serving as legal counsel to the New Hampshire Sate Senate, Chairman of the State Board of Education, member of the New Hampshire Judicial Council, President of the Daniel Webster Council-Boy Scouts of America, and as a board member for the Easter Seals Society of New Hampshire, Bishop’s Charitable Assistance Fund, CASA of New Hampshire, and ACA Assurance. A native of Manchester, Lamontagne resides in Manchester with his wife, Elizabeth, and their two children.

Lamontagne succeeds St. Mary’s Bank’s Chairman of the Board, Joseph J. Acorace, who passed away recently after a period of declining health. Acorace served St. Mary’s Bank for 25 years, including six years as chairman.

Healy has been a member of the St. Mary's Bank Board of Directors since July 2005. He is the owner and director of Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Manchester. He is also the chairman of the New Hampshire Board of Registration of Funeral Directors and Embalmers and a member of both the New Hampshire Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. Healy was a member of the Manchester School Committee for 18 years, where he served as vice chairman. He holds a degree in mortuary science from New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in Boston, Massachusetts.
