St. Mary’s Bank Elects Chairman and New Vice Chairman

Manchester, NH—St. Mary’s Bank, the nation’s first credit union, is pleased to announce the election of Ovide M. Lamontagne, Esq. to Chairman of the Board and Joseph G. Fremeau to Vice Chairman. Both are current members of the Board of Directors. St. Mary’s also announced the election of Robert E. Duval, P.E. to Chairman of the Supervisory Committee.

“Ovide and Joe are outstanding community leaders and well respected through out New Hampshire,” said Ronald H. Covey, St. Mary’s Bank President and Chief Executive Officer. “Both have made great contributions as St. Mary’s Board members. They are accomplished leaders with outstanding experience, a strong sense of community and we are proud to have them on our Board.”

Lamontagne has been a member of the St. Mary’s Bank Board of Directors since August 2000, serving this past year as Chairman of the Board. He is a shareholder with the regional law firm of Devine, Millimet & Branch. His civic involvement includes serving as legal counsel to the New Hampshire Sate Senate, Chairman of the State Board of Education, member of the New Hampshire Judicial Council, past president of the Daniel Webster Council-Boy Scouts of America, and as a board member for the Easter Seals Society of New Hampshire, Bishop’s Charitable Assistance Fund, CASA of New Hampshire, and ACA Assurance. A native of Manchester, Lamontagne resides in Manchester with his wife, Elizabeth, and their two children.

Fremeau is president of Fremeau Appraisal, Inc., a commercial real estate appraisal and consulting firm in downtown Manchester. He is a certified New Hampshire real estate appraiser and a licensed real estate broker. He holds the Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI) professional designation awarded by the Appraisal Institute. Active in the community, Fremeau serves on the Loan Review Committee of the City of Manchester Revolving Loan Fund and is a past president of the New Hampshire Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. He is a Realtor member and former director of the New Hampshire Commercial Investment Board of Realtors. He has also served on the Board of Trustees of Hillcrest Terrace. A native of Manchester, Fremeau is a graduate of Trinity High School and the Whittemore School of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire. Joe and his wife, Connie, have two children and reside in Manchester.

Duval was first appointed to St. Mary’s Supervisory Committee in 2004. He is chief engineer and officer of TFMoran Inc., a consulting engineering company. Mr. Duval is a graduate of Central High School and a fifth-generation resident of Manchester. He is a director of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and Chair of the Chamber's Green Committee. Bob is also chair of the Air Resources Council of the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, and a director of the New Horizons for New Hampshire soup kitchen.

Duval holds a BSc degree from McGill University in Montreal. Bob and his wife, Jeannie, reside in Manchester and have six children and five grandchildren.
