St. Mary’s Bank Receives Award of Merit for 100th Anniversary Website

Posted On 3/16/2009
MANCHESTER–St. Mary’s Bank was recently honored with a Diamond Award, which recognizes outstanding marketing and business development achievements within the credit union industry.
The award was presented by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Marketing and Business Development Council, a national network comprising more than 1,000 credit union marketing and business development professionals. Awards are given in each of 34 categories ranging from advertising to community events and beyond.

St. Mary’s Bank won an Award of Merit in the electronic marketing category for its 100th anniversary micro-Website, hosted to celebrate the credit union’s 100 years of service to the community. The award category recognized a marketing tool that promoted a credit union product or service.

“As the first credit union in the nation, our 100th anniversary created a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and reach out to the community at the same time. The web site enabled us to share our rich history in a fun and interactive way,” said president and CEO Ronald Covey. “We were pleased to win an Award of Merit for this project.”

“The Diamond Awards recognize the best-of-the-best in credit union marketing, advertising and business development,” said Anne Legg, council chair and vice president of marketing for Cabrillo Credit Union in San Diego, Calif. “It takes hard work, imagination and perseverance to be selected as a Diamond Award winner from 1,200 entries.”

Award winners were recognized at the council’s 16th annual conference held March 11-14 in San Diego. For more information on the Diamond Awards or to view the entire list of winners, go to www.cunamarketingcouncil.org.
