St. Mary's Bank Donates $3,000 to Organization for Refugee and Immigrant Success 

MANCHESTER—October 30, 2012—St. Mary’s Bank recently gave $3,000 to the Organization for Refugee and Immigrant Success (ORIS) to upgrade the computers in their youth computer lab and help their Fresh Start Farms SNAP incentive program. 

“Refugee and immigrant groups face unique challenges and ORIS is there to help in their resettlement by providing a number of valuable services” said Tom Champagne, St. Mary’s Bank’s Director of Community Outreach. “We’re pleased to help ORIS continue their work and assisting this underserved population.”

The Organization for Refugee and Immigrant Success is a non-profit organization based in Manchester, NH. ORIS is a provider of continued integration services specifically targeting the newly-arrived refugee and immigrant population. ORIS aids the resettled refugees and immigrants groups in Manchester by providing training, resources, and opportunities that promotes self-sufficiency including workforce trainings, access to health care, community workshops, and the refugee agriculture program.

“As an organization founded by refugees, we have a personal understanding of the refugee experience and what it takes to assist new refugees with successfully transitioning into the community,” said Andrea Bye, ORIS’ Agricultural Training Coordinator, “We’re grateful to St. Mary’s Bank for their generous gift as it helps us continue our mission.”
