Family Promise of Greater Rockingham County receives Grant from St. Mary’s Bank

Posted On 6/10/2013
MANCHESTER, NH - June 10 2013 -  A program providing resources to homeless families in Rockingham County will receive $1,900 in funding from St. Mary’s Bank for the purchase of a computer and software for critical record keeping.

Family Promise of Greater Rockingham County (FPGRC) operates the Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN), which provides a safe place for homeless families with children. The network serves Salem, Derry, and 14 surrounding towns in southern New Hampshire, offering families food, shelter, and social services.
The funding from St. Mary’s Bank will cover the cost of a computer and software to allow the IHN to help clients and track their progress toward independence. The computer also will be used by staff and volunteers for daily office tasks.

“This grant provides equipment essential to running the IHN, helping us serve our guest families and assist them in finding permanent housing,” said Melanie Grace Nesheim, President of Family Promise of Greater Rockingham County. “We believe that every family should have a home, a livelihood, and a chance to build a better future.”

“We are pleased to be able to help this wonderful organization reach out to those in need,” said Tom Champagne, St. Mary’s Bank Director of Community Outreach. “Families in crisis benefit greatly from assistance programs like the IHN, and we are proud to support their valuable work.”
