St. Mary’s Bank Establishes Saint Anselm College Scholarship
Partnership also includes student work initiatives

MANCHESTER, NH—January 4, 2013 – St. Mary’s Bank has made a $25,000 donation to the Saint Anselm College Corporate Partners Program, and will partner with the college over the next five years.

The Saint Anselm Corporate Partners Program provides scholarships for talented students in financial need, and is a collaboration between the College and some of the region’s leading corporations, local businesses, and individuals.

“While St. Mary’s Bank has supported the Corporate Partners Program for a number of years, we wanted to significantly increase our level of support as we know involvement from the business community is essential to offering opportunities to talented young people and leads to successful student outcomes,“ said Ronald H. Covey, Jr., St. Mary’s Bank President and CEO. “The St. Mary’s Bank scholarship will be designated to qualified New Hampshire students, and the student receiving the scholarship will be the St. Mary’s Bank Scholar.”

St. Mary’s Bank will also consider Saint Anselm students as interns and summer help, and College graduates for potential positions. “This collaboration represents an investment in human capital,” said John Gennetti, Saint Anselm College Assistant Vice President for Individual Gifts. “We thank St. Mary’s Bank for its generous gift. These funds will go a long way toward assisting New Hampshire students with financial need.”

The Corporate Partners Program has grown tremendously. In 2001, the Corporate Partners Program raised $35,000.This past year, more than $217,000 in scholarship aid was awarded and 75 businesses and individuals from New Hampshire and Massachusetts made gifts, making this year's participation the highest since its inception.
