West High School to Benefit from Gift of Computers from St. Mary’s Bank partners with local computer services non-profit to refurbish and upgrade computers for student use.

MANCHESTER, NH—March 13, 2013 – St. Mary’s Bank partnered with Computer Technology Assistance Corps (CTAC) to donate 12 refurbished personal computers to Manchester West High School.

The nation’s first credit union donated the used PC’s, and CTAC installed refurbished hard drives and installed Windows 7 on each computer.

St. Mary’s Bank covered the cost of the computer upgrades and software, and together with CTAC delivered the computers to the high school.

“West High School has been our West Side neighbor since the 1920’s, and we’re delighted that this gift will help West students compete in today’s technology-driven world,” said Tom Champagne, St Mary’s Bank Director of Community Outreach.

Keith Puglisi, West High School Assistant Principal, noted, “One of our missions at West is integrating technology into our curriculum and helping students learn the computer skills they’ll need to be competitive in the workplace. This donation of equipment and software will help us achieve the goal of producing ‘technology-savvy’ graduates.”

Puglisi also credited CTAC, a non-profit organization located in Manchester, for its expertise and partnership with the St. Mary’s Bank.

“We restore computers donated by businesses and individuals, distributing them to low-income households, not-for-profits, community service organizations, schools and other groups,” said Steve Bothwick, Executive Director of CTAC.  “We have enjoyed a wonderful relationship with St. Mary’s Bank, and this donation is only the latest example of its ongoing commitment to the community at large.”
