St. Mary’s Bank Grant Provides Funds for Renovation of Concord Regional VNA Hospice House

St. Mary’s Bank, the nation’s first credit union, has awarded a $3,000 Community Outreach Grant to help with kitchen repairs and updates at Concord Regional VNA Hospice House.

Since its opening in 1994 as the first facility of its kind in New Hampshire, The Hospice House has been in constant use, and as a result, “it is in need of renovations, just like any other home,” said Mary DeVeau, President and CEO of the Concord Regional VNA.

“The Hospice House is a warm, caring, personalized home that includes 24-hour skilled nursing care so terminally ill individuals and their families can focus on the quality of life remaining,” DeVeau explained.

A current $1.4 million Hospice House renovation project includes the kitchen repairs and updates supported by the St. Mary’s Bank grant.

Since 1899, Concord Regional VNA has served the healthcare needs of people of all ages in central New Hampshire. Its not-for-profit, community-based organization provides a wide range of personalized services and programs, including hospice and home care.

“Many of us have had personal experience with an aging relative or friend in need of end-of-life care,” said Tom Champagne, St. Mary’s Bank Director of Community Outreach. “With this grant, Concord Regional VNA will be able to update a facility that offers so much comfort to so many.”
