St. Mary’s Bank awards $2,400 Medallion Fund Scholarship to nursing student

Posted On 4/20/2016
Twenty three year old hard-working nursing student, Alexandra Lominy, is the recent recipient of a $2,400 scholarship grant awarded by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation (NHCF) from the St. Mary’s Bank Medallion Fund.

Alexandra, a second year nursing student at St. Joseph School of Nursing in Nashua, will graduate this year with her associate’s degree in nursing (ADN). Alexandra aspires to be a traveling nurse to provide medical attention to those in need in deprived countries and hopes to further her education to one day become a nurse practitioner.

Alexandra knows first-hand how beneficial scholarship programs like the Medallion fund are for students who are faced with financing their own education.

“Nursing school is expensive,” said Alexandra. “I’ve been lucky enough to receive scholarships that have helped me advance my education, so I always try to share information about the Medallion Fund to my peers. It’s a great program that I don’t think many people are aware is available.”

The St. Mary’s Bank Medallion Fund Scholarship Program, administered by the NHCF, provides scholarships to St. Mary’s Bank members and their families, regardless of age, who enroll in any accredited vocational or technical program.

Applications for the Medallion Fund are accepted all year round. More information about the Medallion Fund Scholarship Program can be found online at www.nhcf.org or by calling the NHCF Office of Student Aid at 1-800-464-6641.
