St. Mary’s Bank, the nation’s first credit union is recognized as one of New Hampshire’s top 10 housing lenders of 2015 by New Hampshire Housing. St. Mary’s Bank closed a significant number of loans to homebuyers throughout 2015.

“We are honored to receive this recognition for the fifth year in a row,” said Karen Mayrand, Director of Residential Lending for St. Mary’s Bank. “It demonstrates our commitment to providing affordable financing options to N.H. home buyers. Our relationship with New Hampshire Housing allows us to help individuals achieve their goal of home ownership.”

The nation’s first credit union shared 2015 financial results with members at its 107th Annual Shareholder meeting on April 27, 2016, at St. Mary’s Bank headquarters on McGregor Street in Manchester.

At the board’s organizational meeting that followed the annual meeting, Daniel J. Healy was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors. Healy’s service on the board began in 2005, and he has served as Chairman of the credit union’s Credit Committee since 2010. He is the owner-president and funeral director of the Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Manchester. David Bellman, president of Bellman Jewelers, Inc., was elected Vice Chairman of the Board. Bellman has served on the Board since 2010.

Twenty three year old hard-working nursing student, Alexandra Lominy, is the recent recipient of a $2,400 scholarship grant awarded by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation (NHCF) from the St. Mary’s Bank Medallion Fund.

Alexandra, a second year nursing student at St. Joseph School of Nursing in Nashua, will graduate this year with her associate’s degree in nursing (ADN). Alexandra aspires to be a traveling nurse to provide medical attention to those in need in deprived countries and hopes to further her education to one day become a nurse practitioner.
