Posted On 2/1/2018
St. Mary’s Bank announces that Aimee Morin has been selected by Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and The Cooperative Trust to attend Crash the GAC 2018, February 25–March 1, in Washington, D.C.

Crash the GAC brings young credit union professionals together to experience CUNA’s Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC) in dynamic and career-building ways. While attendees learn about credit union priorities and advocacy, they enjoy networking and mentoring sessions with industry leaders from organizations such as Filene Research Institute, National Credit Union Foundation, CUNA, and CUNA Mutual Group.

“Aimee supports our entire organization and epitomizes our next generation of leadership,” comments Ron Covey, President and CEO of St. Mary’s Bank. “She leads her team to develop procedures and first-class training programs. Representing St. Mary’s Bank at Crash the GAC will build upon this foundation and help Aimee take her career to the next level.”

Morin will join 77 other Crashers from all 50 states and the District of Columbia. She will represent the Cooperative Credit Union Association (CCUA), which advocates for its member credit unions based in Delaware, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.

“I love being part of the credit union movement, and I am honored to be a Crasher on behalf of the nation’s first credit union and the CCUA,” states Morin, Training and Development Supervisor at St. Mary’s Bank. “Attending this event will allow me to learn from other credit union professionals and gain insight into the vital fight to keep the movement strong and thriving.”

“The Crashers program is great for young credit union professionals, for GAC, and for the entire movement,” explains Jim Nussle, CUNA CEO and President. “The Crashers get to network and participate in the premier event of the credit union industry, the GAC benefits from their enthusiasm and fresh perspectives, and the movement is invigorated by a new generation of fired-up advocates who have learned how to reach out to legislators to effect change.”

Crash the GAC is sponsored by The Cooperative Trust and CUNA, in association with credit union leagues and associations. This partnership constantly challenges itself to offer a Crashers program that holds the most value for young professionals and the credit union movement by giving its next leaders a voice as they look to the future of the credit union industry.
