Join the Club: St. Mary’s Bank Celebrates Employee Longevity

Posted On 2/2/2018
Employees, on average, have been with their employers just a tick over four years, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. St. Mary’s Bank boasts a group of employees who have exceeded this average five-fold.

The nation’s first credit union launched its President’s Club in 2010 to recognize and thank employees who reach 20 years of service. The President’s Club includes 19 current employees, and St. Mary’s Bank recently honored them at the Puritan Backroom restaurant.

“In today’s workforce climate, employees who reach 20 years of service are some of our most valuable assets and truly something to be celebrated,” explains Ron Covey, President and CEO of St. Mary’s Bank. “Every year, I look forward to this opportunity to honor those who are dedicated to our credit union.”

This year’s additions to the President’s Club include Shirley Bhutto, Director of Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance, and Kathy Poole, Electronic and Deposit Operations Supervisor. Covey especially recognized the following employees for their milestone anniversaries.
  • Jessica Emerson: Branch Sales and Service Manager, 25 years
  • Betty Furman: Senior Teller, 30 years
  • Linda Girard: Controller, 30 years
  • Anne Canty: Senior Executive Assistant and Corporate Secretary, 30 years
  • Lisa Vaal: Accounting Representative, 30 years
The mission of St. Mary’s Bank is to help members achieve their financial goals by providing best-in-market-service and trusted financial advice, and the faithful service of these employees helps the credit union live out its mission every day.
