St. Mary’s Bank has been named the 2017 Best Credit Union by the NH Business Review’s annual BOB Awards, which honor the best of business in New Hampshire across more than 90 categories.

“We searched high and low to honor the best businesses in the state,” explains Jeff Feingold, editor of NH Business Review. “With 3,500 ballots cast for the 2017 Awards, the BOBs continue to be considered a standard of excellence in New Hampshire’s business community.”
 

In a workforce flush with Millennials, employers can expect employees ages 20–34 to hold their positions a mere 2.3 years. In light of this, St. Mary’s Bank knows the value of retaining long-term employees and honors those who reach the milestone of 20 years of service.
 
In 2010, St. Mary’s Bank launched its President’s Club to recognize and thank those employees with 20 or more years of dedicated service to the nation’s first credit union. The President’s Club currently boasts 19 employees, and St. Mary’s Bank recently honored them at the Club’s annual dinner at the Puritan Backroom restaurant in Manchester.

St. Mary’s Bank recently received a Cooperative Credit Union Association (CCUA) 2016 Award of Excellence for its commitment to social responsibility. CCUA—which serves credit unions throughout New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Delaware—evaluated St. Mary’s Bank’s ongoing work with Make-A-Wish, the social responsibility cause adopted by New Hampshire’s credit unions, and other non-profits and selected St. Mary’s Bank as the honoree for the State of New Hampshire.

St. Mary’s Bank recently presented a $1,000 donation to the Bhutanese Community of New Hampshire (BCNH) in Manchester and Concord to further BCNH’s mental health services program.

The donation was awarded from the credit union’s 1908 Fund, named for the year St. Mary’s Bank was founded, which awards funds for the purpose of providing programs and support to organizations to move families and individuals toward financial independence.
