MANCHESTER, NH (September 9, 2020) — St. Mary’s Bank is pleased to announce that Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer Jan Raymond has been honored with a 2020 New England Women in Banking award by leading community banking publication Banking New England.

“Jan is an accomplished leader who emphasizes collaboration and communication in all she does,” said Ron Covey, St. Mary’s Bank President and Chief Executive Officer. “I am continually impressed by her supportive management approach and her commitment to members and the communities we serve. Our warmest congratulations to Jan for this well-deserved honor.”

Jan Raymond has held leading lending roles in the New Hampshire banking industry since 1978. “Jan has always made it look natural, women leading,” said Dianne Mercier, a former colleague and current NH President of People’s United Bank. “There really is no one I can think of more deserving to be recognized, not only for her contributions as a brilliant banker, but for the kind of banker that she is.”

“Jan would often say that there is no substitute for strong relationships, no matter what,” said Lisa Stanton, who previously worked with Raymond at Bank of NH. “Bravo to the nomination committee for recognizing exceptional contributions that some have made for the benefit of all of us.”

Prior to joining St. Mary’s Bank in 2018, Raymond managed a successful commercial lending team at Merrimack County Savings Bank in Concord. She is the former president of Ewing Raymond Consulting, where she worked with banks throughout the United States to develop relationship-focused sales processes. Jan’s long career includes positions at Ocean National Bank in Manchester and Citizens Bank in Manchester. She attended Rivier University in Nashua and the- University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate School of Banking.

Banking New England’s New England Women in Banking awards honor the most talented, ambitious, innovative, and philanthropic women bankers in the region who are achieving excellence and making a difference in what has traditionally been a male-dominated industry. This special feature shines a light on the many trailblazers who are leading the way for women. Nominations were submitted by both readers and banking professionals and reviewed by a panel of judges.
