St. Mary’s Bank, the first credit union in the country, is pleased to announce the recent hiring of Ron MacDonald as the Director of Indirect Consumer Lending. In this role, MacDonald will be responsible for overseeing the credit union’s indirect auto lending and sports and leisure lending programs. He will also serve as a member of the strategic planning team.

Kyle Schneck, St. Mary’s Bank’s Chief Lending Officer, expressed his enthusiasm about MacDonald’s appointment, stating, “Ron has a strong track record of leadership in the indirect lending business. He understands how to deepen relationships with our dealer partners and expand our program to serve more members. Ron will bring our best-in-class indirect business to the next level.”

“I am very excited to join an organization that places its members first and is dedicated to giving back to the community it serves,” MacDonald shared. “The culture created by the leadership team is not easily duplicated in many organizations today, and these attributes made my decision to join St. Mary’s Bank effortless.”

MacDonald has over thirty years of experience in automotive lending. Before joining St. Mary’s Bank, he was General Manager at High Street Capital Partners in New York, New York. He also held the positions of Senior Vice President of Indirect Lending at Berkshire Bank in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, First Vice President of Indirect Lending at First Niagara Bank in Buffalo, New York, and National Sales Manager of Indirect Lending for TD Bank NA in Portland, Maine.

MacDonald earned his Bachelor of Science in Resource Management from the University of New Hampshire, which he attended on an athletic scholarship. In his free time, he volunteers as a high school football coach. Along with spending time with his wife and two sons, both of whom pursued finance careers, MacDonald enjoys golf, boating, and working outside.
