Service Built from Experience: Small Business Owner Elliott Hale Joins St. Mary’s Bank as Business Development Officer

Posted

Elliott Hale, Business Development Officer
When Elliott Hale works with business members, he leads with fairness, curiosity, and genuine engagement. He understands that successful businesses don’t operate on one‑size‑fits‑all solutions; they face shifting priorities and important decisions that call for trusted relationships and practical, steady support as they grow.

Originally from Northern Maine, Elliott began his career after attending a local college, building a foundation in insurance before moving into healthcare finance and community banking. In 2019, he joined Bar Harbor Bank, where he served as a multi-site branch manager and later as a small business lender. Together, these experiences allow him to support business owners at different points in their journey, helping them approach key financial decisions with confidence.

Over time, Elliott saw how relationship-based banking can make a meaningful difference for local businesses and the communities they serve. That perspective became even more personal in 2025, when he and his wife purchased Morgan Hill Bookstore in New London giving him a day-to-day perspective on the decisions, tradeoffs and financial considerations business owners manage beyond a balance sheet.

“Elliott connects with people in a way that feels both genuine and informed,” said Tina Brown, Vice President, Business Development Manager at St. Mary’s Bank. “Because he’s a business owner himself, he understands the decisions other business owners are weighing and the kind of guidance they’re looking for.”

Beyond his work, Elliott remains actively involved in the communities where local businesses live and grow. He serves as President of the Granite Foundation, supporting workforce development and technical training, and stays engaged in both athletics and the arts — coaching high school hockey for the Kearsarge/Plymouth team and serving on the board of the New London Playhouse. These roles reflect his commitment to the people and organizations that help local communities thrive.

As St. Mary’s Bank continues to grow and evolve, Elliott’s experience as a financial professional, business owner, and community leader strengthens our mission to listen, support, and act in the best interests of our business members — offering guidance rooted in real experience, local understanding, and meaningful relationships.

Please join us in welcoming Elliott Hale to St. Mary’s Bank!
