Campers this summer benefited from the generous donation of time and muscle by St. Mary’s Bank employees at Camp Seawood to make the facility more welcoming to the children camping there.
Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. Employees volunteered to spruce up the facilities at the Girl Scout camp twice in the past year. On July 16, the North Hampton branch manager helped paint new benches for the children to use.
On Aug. 4, Brianna Perry, member experience manager, and four others from St. Mary’s Bank also painted. “At St. Mary’s Bank,” said Perry, “we believe that building stronger communities starts with giving back, lifting others up, and investing in the leaders of tomorrow. It was a pleasure volunteering at Camp Seawood, and we are thankful for the opportunity to give back, lend a helping hand, and support those in our community.”
Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains is the council serving Girl Scouts across New Hampshire and Vermont, which welcomes volunteer help throughout the year. “We are grateful for this new partnership with St. Mary’s Bank in this vital work!” said Heather McQuade, donor relations specialist at the council. “Their help truly made a positive impact on the campers of Camp Seawood. We look forward to continuing to grow this community
partnership.”
St. Mary’s Bank donates generously to support nonprofit organizations and community initiatives. Their employees are also committed to the communities they live and work in, collectively volunteering thousands of hours each year to support various nonprofits and social service agencies. The bank was established in 1908 in Manchester as the first credit union in the nation.
Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains operates three-day camps and one overnight camp in New Hampshire and Vermont. This past summer, Camp Seawood enabled 43 children to gain confidence and make friends in the outdoors at day camp. St. Mary’s Bank will create ripple effects for years to come, enabling girls to find their power within.
