Jim Notaro Joins St. Mary’s Bank to Lead a Modern, Member-First Digital Experience
At St. Mary’s Bank, investing in technology is about helping members navigate their finances with clarity and confidence. That belief shapes how Jim Notaro approaches digital banking — and why his leadership aligns so closely with St. Mary’s mission to invest in smart innovative digital tools while remaining personal, responsive and member-focused.
Jim joins St. Mary’s Bank at a time of continued investment in modern digital banking. He believes digital banking doesn’t replace relationships; it supports them. The right tools give members easier access to information, clearer choices, and added confidence, while reinforcing that knowledgeable, local support is always available when questions arise. “Not every member wants the same experience, and that’s okay,” said Notaro. “Our role is to make digital banking simple and useful, while keeping conversations and education front and center.”
“Jim brings purpose and long-term perspective to the digital experience,” said Tyler White, Chief Strategy Officer at St. Mary’s Bank. “He understands how to deliver intuitive digital tools that bring clarity to the banking experience, making achieving financial goals easier for our members.”
Jim began his banking career after attending Mount Wachusett Community College, where he earned an associate degree in business and developed a strong interest in accounting and operations. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Fitchburg State University and later completed his MBA at Bentley University, building a foundation focused on thoughtful systems that work for both members and the teams who support them.
Notaro’s people-first mindset extends beyond his professional work. At his previous financial institution, Jim helped establish the Shine Initiative, a nonprofit focused on youth mental health. The initiative works to keep conversations going in schools and help reduce stigma, supporting children and families through awareness and education.
As the nation’s first credit union, St. Mary’s Bank has always balanced progress with purpose — investing thoughtfully, listening closely, and evolving with members in mind. In his role, Jim will help carry that legacy forward, shaping a digital experience that remains modern, intuitive, and grounded in the personal service members expect.
