Mark Stebbins Community Center Receives Foundational Endowment Investment Rooting Long-Term Impact on Manchester's West Side

The Mark Stebbins Community Center, a collaborative space built to support families on Manchester’s West Side, has received an early investment from St. Mary’s Bank reflecting a shared commitment to collaboration and long-term impact. 

St. Mary’s Bank strategically chose to fund the Center’s endowment — a $500,000 investment that will grow over time and strengthen year after year. Annual earnings will help support operations every year while the principal continues to grow, creating a reliable source of funding that benefits the community today and for generations to come.

To symbolize this long-term commitment, the contribution will be recognized with a maple tree presentation rather than a traditional check — reflecting growth, strength, long-term value, and community impact.

“Choosing to invest in the endowment reflects how we work with our community partners by listening, collaborating, and shaping support around their vision,” said Ken Senus, CEO and President of St. Mary’s Bank. “It’s about understanding what the Mark Stebbins Community Center is building and contributing in a way that strengthens that work over time and delivers lasting value for the community.”

The organization’s support will be recognized through the naming of the entrances serving the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Manchester and Amoskeag Health, two anchor partners in the Center.

The investment is especially meaningful given St. Mary’s Bank’s deep roots in Manchester’s West Side, where it was founded in 1908 and continues to serve today. From those humble beginnings, the organization has grown to support communities across New Hampshire while remaining firmly connected to the neighborhood where it all began.

The Mark Stebbins Community Center will be home to several nonprofit organizations that will provide collaborative services under one roof in an accessible, central location for families and individuals on the West Side of Manchester. The center’s mission to building stronger families and brighter futures for children throughout New Hampshire through generosity, collaboration, and gratitude.  The anchor tenants will be Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Manchester and Amoskeag Health, with several nonprofit partner organizations including the NH Food Bank, Community Action Partnership, Granite YMCA, Waypoint, Easterseals, Granite United Way and others also providing services.
